A Little About Me

My deepest grounding lies in meaningful connection with others, and I’ve long been drawn to serve within those relationships. My work is not only about helping to ease suffering, but also about supporting growth, depth, and joy. I hold the trust placed in me and in the therapeutic process with deep respect and genuine gratitude. For me, this work is a profound privilege, and one I truly love.

Before I became a therapist, I studied jazz improvisation for a decade, and it still informs my work. Improvisation taught me most of what I know about listening: staying present, responding to what is actually happening rather than what I planned, and trusting that structure and spontaneity need each other. It is also one reason so many artists, writers, and performers find their way to my practice.

I am currently writing a book about anxiety. One of its central ideas is that gratitude and vulnerability are the states we most want to live in, and also the harder ones to inhabit; anxiety, for all its discomfort, is often the easier place to stay. The book, like the therapy, is about learning to choose the richer states anyway.

Who I Help

Over nearly two decades as a therapist, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and couples from a wide range of backgrounds, temperaments, and needs. People come to therapy for many reasons: anxiety, relationship challenges, career transitions, trauma, depression, or simply a desire to know themselves more deeply. Whatever brings someone in, I see the choice to seek therapy as an act of hope. And I’m here to meet it fully.

How I Help

My approach is integrative and responsive. While I’m a certified Gestalt therapist, I also draw from psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, mythopoetic work, and relational therapy. As many clients as I’ve worked with, that’s how many ways the work has taken shape. Each process is tailored to you: your story, your needs, your pace, and your sense of safety.
